Such experience motivated her to found TraumAnon, a peer-led, trauma support group. Shawn is trained in Level Two EMDR techniques and utilizes this in her practice. Shawn’s focus has led her to work within behavioral health hospitals, addiction treatment facilities, and within correctional institutions as well as maintaining her private practice. Most recent Shawn’s efforts involve bridging the gap in outpatient addiction treatment and trauma at Etowah Recovery Center. She recognizes the need for community, sober support and clinically driven programming when treating a client with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health while practicing trauma informed care.

In her free time, Shawn can be found relaxing with her best friends, supporting local restaurants around Atlanta, and singing. Originally from Kentucky, Shawn is a fan of Derby-related events and remains connected to her roots.
